The Zurich Marató Barcelona debuted a new course and the Re-uz reusable cup system last Sunday, March 15th.
The initiative, promoted by the Barcelona City Council through the Institut Barcelona Esports, was a resounding success. Thanks to this circular system, waste was significantly reduced.
Runners used the cups at the final post-finish aid station, with more than 30,000 units being collected along the Arc de Triomf.
After collection at Re-uz, we ensured proper sanitization at our facilities and storage, leaving the reusable cups ready for future municipal events.
Barcelona runs towards a greener future!
